This roof rack for the Ford Transit (up to and including 2018; without 3rd brake light) is made of aluminum and is therefore very lightweight. These roof racks are stylish and strong and therefore maintenance free. The diffusers at the front minimize wind noise. They are also TUV certified.

The difference between an aluminum or a steel roof rack is mainly in weight and appearance. In terms of load capacity and wind noise, there is virtually no difference between the two. Driving with an aluminum roof rack does consume less fuel than a steel roof rack.
